DX1 - Imbalance Indicator

The DX1 - Imbalance Indicator quantifies the overall quality of initial measurements by examining imbalances at all material balance points (process units, inventories, and nodes) as a ratio of redundant measurements. This index is expressed as a percentage. The operating target is for an Imbalance Ratio of less than 10%.

DX1 is calculated by the following equation:

DX1 = RMS (Imbalances) / RMS (Redundant Flows)

Where:

I = ith flow/transfer/inventory that is in service.

J = jth node/process/inventory that is in service

M = total number of nodes/processes/inventories.

N = total number of redundant flows/transfers/inventories.

QR\= value of the mass or a measurement that is redundant.
